Everything You Need to Know

FAQ

Answers to the most common questions about ordering, legality, safety, shipping, and what to expect.

ORDERING & PROCESS
How to place an order, what happens after you order, and how prescriptions work.
Do I need a prescription to order? +
Yes. All medications on SlimVault require a valid prescription from a licensed healthcare provider. Our checkout process includes a health questionnaire that is reviewed by a licensed prescriber within 24 hours. If appropriate for your health profile, a prescription is issued and forwarded to our pharmacy for fulfillment. You do not need to provide your own prescription β€” the review and issuance are handled through our process.
How long does the process take from order to delivery? +
Order β†’ prescriber review (24 hours) β†’ pharmacy compounding and dispatch (24–48 hours) β†’ standard shipping (3–5 business days). Total from order to delivery is typically 5–8 business days. Express (1–2 days) and overnight shipping are available at checkout to reduce transit time once the medication is dispatched.
Can my order be declined? +
Yes. If the prescribing provider reviewing your health questionnaire determines that the requested medication is not appropriate for your health profile β€” due to contraindications, drug interactions, or other safety factors β€” the prescription will not be issued and your order will be refunded in full. Common contraindications include a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) for GLP-1 medications, or a history of seizures for Contrave and Qsymia.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), PayPal, and Apple Pay. All transactions are processed through 256-bit SSL encryption. We do not store full card numbers after transaction processing. Bank transfers and cryptocurrency are not currently accepted.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it? +
Orders can be modified or cancelled within 2 hours of placement, before the prescriber review begins. After prescription approval, orders enter the pharmacy queue and cannot be cancelled or modified. Contact our support team via WhatsApp immediately if you need to make changes. Once medication has been compounded and shipped, orders cannot be cancelled β€” only eligible for our return/refund policy.
SHIPPING & PACKAGING
Delivery times, packaging, cold chain, and international shipping.
Will anyone know what I ordered from the packaging? +
No. Every SlimVault order ships in a plain brown or white box with no external branding, no medication names, no logos, and nothing on the outside that suggests pharmaceutical contents. The return address does not reference SlimVault or any medication. Your billing statement will show a discreet descriptor that does not reference weight loss medications.
How is temperature maintained during shipping? +
Injectable medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide) require refrigeration. All injectable orders are packed with pharmaceutical-grade cold packs and insulated poly liners rated for 48–72 hours of cold chain maintenance during standard transit. The medication should be refrigerated immediately upon arrival. If medication arrives warm, contact support immediately β€” do not use it without guidance.
Do you ship internationally? +
Currently, we ship within the United States only. International shipping of compounded controlled and prescription medications involves complex customs and regulatory requirements that vary by country. We are actively working toward expanding to additional markets. Sign up to our email list to be notified when your country becomes available.
What happens if my package is damaged or lost in transit? +
If your order arrives damaged, tampered with, or significantly warmer than expected, do not use the medication. Contact us via WhatsApp within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and medication condition. We will arrange a replacement shipment at no charge. For lost packages (tracking shows delivered but not received), contact us within 5 business days and we will investigate with the carrier.
MEDICATIONS & SAFETY
What compounded means, safety standards, side effects, and medical questions.
What is a compounded medication and is it the same as brand-name? +
A compounded medication is prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy using pharmaceutical-grade active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). The API used β€” semaglutide, tirzepatide, etc. β€” is the same molecule as in brand-name medications. However, the compounded product is not manufactured by the original brand (Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly), has not been FDA-reviewed as a finished drug product, and may differ in inactive ingredients and preparation. It is not bioequivalent by FDA definition, even though the active ingredient is identical.
Are these medications safe? +
The active molecules β€” semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide β€” have been extensively studied in large randomized controlled trials with tens of thousands of patients. Their safety profiles are well-documented. The compounding process introduces additional variables including preparation quality and dosing accuracy, which is why we only work with licensed 503A pharmacies using USP-grade ingredients. The FDA has noted risks from compounded GLP-1 products, primarily related to dosing errors and unapproved salt forms β€” risks we actively work to minimize through our pharmacy standards.
What are the most serious side effects I should know about? +
All GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide) carry an FDA boxed warning for risk of thyroid C-cell tumors β€” do not use these medications if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Other serious but rare risks include acute pancreatitis, acute kidney injury (usually from dehydration), gallbladder disease, and gastroparesis. Seek emergency care for severe abdominal pain, sudden vision changes, or any sign of serious allergic reaction. Full side effect information is on each individual product page.
Can I take these medications if I'm on other prescription drugs? +
Several important interactions exist. GLP-1 medications can affect absorption of oral medications due to delayed gastric emptying β€” particularly relevant for oral contraceptives (use backup contraception for 4 weeks after each tirzepatide dose increase). Contrave (naltrexone/bupropion) cannot be used with opioid medications or within 14 days of MAOIs. Phentermine and Qsymia cannot be used with MAOIs and require caution with stimulants. Always disclose all current medications in the health questionnaire β€” the prescribing provider review will flag contraindicated combinations before your prescription is issued.
Is it safe to use these medications long-term? +
GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide have been studied in trials lasting up to 72 weeks, with extension studies ongoing. The long-term safety data continues to accumulate and remains broadly positive for the therapeutic doses used. The clinical consensus increasingly treats obesity as a chronic condition requiring ongoing management, and GLP-1 medications as long-term treatments rather than short-term interventions. Long-term use decisions should be made in consultation with your healthcare provider.
LEGALITY & COMPLIANCE
The legal status of compounded medications and what you need to know.
Is it legal to buy compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide? +
Compounded medications are legal under federal and state law when prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy pursuant to a valid prescription from a licensed prescriber for an identified individual patient. Our process fulfills all of these requirements. The legal landscape for compounded GLP-1 medications has evolved: the FDA removed semaglutide from its shortage list in early 2025, which affects the legal basis for 503A compounding of semaglutide. We work with our pharmacy partners to ensure ongoing compliance with current regulations. Patients should be aware that the regulatory environment can change.
Are there states where you cannot ship? +
Certain states have specific regulations around compounded controlled substances or specific medication categories that may restrict shipping. Phentermine (Schedule IV) and Qsymia (contains phentermine) are subject to state-level controlled substance regulations that vary. At checkout, your state will be validated against our current shipping eligibility list. If we cannot fulfill your order in your state, you will be notified and refunded fully.
Will my insurance cover these medications? +
Most insurance plans do not cover compounded medications, as coverage is typically limited to FDA-approved finished drug products. Even for brand-name GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy, coverage varies significantly by plan and often requires prior authorization that is frequently denied for weight management indications without a diabetes diagnosis. Our pricing is designed to be competitive even without insurance β€” typically 60–70% less than retail out-of-pocket cost for the same molecules.
RESULTS & REFUNDS
What to expect, our guarantee, and how refunds work.
What results should I expect and how quickly? +
Results vary significantly by individual, medication, dose, diet, and activity level. In clinical trials, GLP-1 medications produced 5–22.5% average total body weight loss over 52–72 weeks depending on the specific medication and dose. Real-world results are generally somewhat lower than trial results. Appetite suppression typically begins within 1–4 weeks at the first maintenance dose. Visible weight loss is usually apparent to others by month 2–3. Maximum results occur with consistent long-term use at the optimal maintenance dose.
What is your refund policy? +
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all standard orders (90 days on the Elite Bundle). If you follow the prescribed titration schedule, take the medication as directed, and do not experience any measurable weight loss or benefit within the guarantee period, contact our support team with documentation of your usage and we will process a full refund. Refunds are not available for orders where the medication was misused, dosing instructions were not followed, or where the customer experienced side effects but chose not to continue β€” in that case we can offer a partial refund or credit at our discretion.
